Michael Choi broke onto the comics scene after being hired by Top Cow Productions. He started as Marc Silvestri's (Top Cow's President) background assistant during Silvestri's X-Men run in 2003. His first major work was a back-up story for Witchblade #75. However, he became a familiar name among Top Cow fans after starting a run as regular penciler for Witchblade that would last until the series' 100th issue.
Choi then went to work for Marvel Comics, penciling the 6-issue Marvel mini-series entitled X-23: Target X, and followed that up with a short run on Uncanny X-Men with writer Ed Brubaker. At the New York Comic Con 2008, it was announced that Choi has signed an exclusive contract with Marvel Comics and will be part of a revolving art team on X-Force.
